Globe WiMAX LTE Modem OD-235 Username Password

Globe Telecom Philippines is one of the biggest wireless internet service provider in the country that cater not only 2G and 3G network but as well the 4G WiMAX and the future fastest wireless broadband wavelength the LTE broadband. The WiMAX giant ISP already have learned it mistake from the past acquiring WiMAX modem from Huawei such as BM621, BM625, BM622/i, BM622m and the BM23m whose CPEs  are prone to MAC address cloning which they tag the nation as Free Internet Country by the netizens. No wonder this year Globe Telco is shifting its wireless modem from Green Packet Berhad Malaysia product model:OD235 instead of from Huawei Technologies, the new CPE that they are acquiring is a dual band device that is capable as WiMAX modem and as an LTE modem too.

To access the web graphical user interface (webGUI) of the Green Packet OD-235 aka Globe WiMAX LTE modem OD235, just open any of your fave browser and point it http://192.168.15.1 this just similar to DV-235T aka myBRO and the OX-230 of Smart WiMAX outdoor unit CPE. Globe WiMAX LTE modem OD-235 has three (3) account for the webGUI if you want to navigate and fine tune the settings.

Below are the following username and password of Globe WiMAX LTE OD235 wireless modem

For your information the Globe WiMAX LTE OD-235 wireless modem aka Green Packet OD235 is a WiMAX modem CPE and as well a LTE wireless modem, bear in mind that this CPE device can not be use simultaneously or both modem at the same time to connect to the network such as for the WiMAX and LTE. Unlike Smartphone that is a DualSIM it is possible to connect to the Telco network at the same time or simultaneously whereas the OD235 device it is not possible and there is no way. If you prefer to connect to WiMAX then you can not hook to LTE otherwise disconnect it from WiMAX and hook it to LTE. Another thing to distinguish is WiMAX authenticate via MAC address whereas LTE uses SIM.

Huawei WiMAX Password Generator

Recently, Globe Telecom one of the major wireless ISP in the Philippines updated all their Huawei devices 4G WiMAX CPE remotely using TR069  that is connected to their network and this will enhance some features to the wireless modem especially firmware version V100R001PHLC08B025.

The delima with the new firmware 2011 updates is that the old tricks to locate the admin password for the subscriber to gain access to the advanced features on the CPE device such as Huawei BM622i will no longer co-exist.

This how-to is an alternative way to generate the admin password in order to login as admin account with the privilege unchanged of the 4G WiMAX CPE. Things you need are:

1. Download this file Huawei WiMAX BM622i password generator here
2. Extract the downloaded file using WINRAR, 7zip, or compatible .rar extractor
3. Open/Click this file 'ExcelAccess.exe' from the extracted folder.

You can check this previous post on how to get the MAC address on Globe Broadband 4G WiMAX Huawei Bm622i using default username and password.

4. Now you will have to get you MAC address under your Huawei BM622i modem (under the bar code you will see MAC: AA11BB22CC33) something like that.

5. Enter your MAC here

6. Click 'GENERATE' button to generate your admin password and will show something like this below

7. Now copy/paste that in your notepad (you can use ctrl-c & ctrl-v to copy paste), so you can remember easily.

8. On your web browser got to URL: http://192.168.254.1/globe and then enter username: admin and your generated password.

9. After a successful login, you will now be able to fully administer your BM622i 4G modem, and will be able to open other special tabs.

Hope this helps.... just leave a comment if you appreciate my post.

I got this from another forum site, and wanted to share my own experiment, and so I made my own procedures. Enjoy!

Globe Broadband Huawei BM622 admin Password

If you are a Globe Broadband 4G WiMAX wireless subscriber in the Philippines and being supplied by the Telco's ISP with the device Huawei Echolife model BM622 at the mile. Most probably you and I have same status with limited privilege to their CPE with user account provided as user only, then you are also in my same foot who wish to tweak this device for the purpose of taking the advantage of some features in it such as signal strength manipulation, firewall concerned, port forwarding and other stuff too.

Since the user account is only limited to those features and lack of advancement then we have to used admin privilege to do those stuff. But to be able to login the admin account we need of course the password and here's how to locate it, with this simple and easy steps it would be possible.

First, open any of your favorite web browser i.g. (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Opera, Safari, Seamonkey or others if not listed here) on the address bar type http://192.168.1.1 by default that is the IP address of the web graphical user interface (gui) of Huawei Echolife BM622. Likewise, to access the CPE device login with the default Username and Password as "user" refer to screenshot above.

Once you have already login, copy and paste or type http://192.168.1.1/html/management/account.asp on to the web browser you are working on, the result would be like the screenshot below.

To locate the admin password immediately you can press CTRL-F from the keyboard type admin as what is shown the above screenshot being encircled, this is just an example of an admin password 2008R6TxASRLVGZ2 highlight then press CTRL-C to copy. Logout, then login again using the admin with the password you have copied previously (from CTRL-C).

Congratulations, you are now able to access the admin account with full privilege you can now modify and edit the advanced features, setting and other stuff that you wanted to do.

SmartBro Pocket WiFi Hands On Snap

When we moved from our condo in Las Pinas to an apartment in Laguna we had our telephone line and internet (PLDT and DSL) transferred as well. We were in a two-year contract with PLDT and it will be costly if we will have it cut and apply for a new line.

For 2 weeks in November, we don't have cable, landline and internet. Local antenna can only get Qtv channel, thus we would only watch TweetBiz. And oh, Jeng loves Tim Yap is an understatement all sarcasm. It's ok not to have cable because we can always watch downloaded movies and tv series. The hardest part is not having internet. Life gets boring without internet.

One day, I got home and are house was once again a wifi zone. Jeng bought a Smart Bro Pocket Wifi!

From the name of the unit itself, you will have an idea that this is a small gadget. It's small like a mobile phone, it can fit in your pocket.

The unit itself costs P3600. During that time, there was promo where you can pay for the unit for 2 years. That will be P150 a month. Not bad! The internet cost P495 for 50 hours/month. That’s like P10/hour. You will be charged P10/30mins on the succeeding use of internet after the 50 hours. All in all, we are billed P645 per month. Internet speed is up to 2MBPS. I actually don't understand what an MBPS is. Hahaha. Jeng said 2 MBPS is already fast. But I think fast is relative. Well, for a non-techie person (Like me), as long as I can open facebook, twitter, log in into this blog and open all the other sites I usually check, that is fast. At the same time, speed varies depending on the smart signal on your location.

The unit comes with a battery similar to that of a mobile phone. Of course a charger is included when you purchase the unit. Battery lasts for about 2 to 3hours of continuous used. It can be use while you are charging it.

Once the landline and DSL was up we limit the use the pocket wifi when we are out. Jeng driving from Laguna to Marikina and vice versa, I’m using it. Dinner and coffee with friends in Tagaytay, we used it. Going to a friend’s party, we let them borrow and use it. Basically if we are not home, we bring and use it. 5 laptop and/or phone can connect all at the same time, according to smart website. Yes, I am walking wifi zone, as the radio commercial says!

We are still maintaining it today because this can be used during emergencies. Like this week, we learned that our DSL was cut off. Jeng did not pay last month's bill because we are asking for an adjustment from PLDT for the two weeks that the phone was installed but we didn't have dial tone and of course no internet. The telephone line was not cut off, it was just the internet. Weird ‘no?

Good thing we kept the pocket wifi.

SmartBro 4G LTE Huawei E392 My Beta Test

I have been under the Smart LTE Closed Beta Testing Program for quite some time now and from what I can say, it certainly beats other wireless ISP when it comes to speed. As a wireless internet user for around 4 years and using around 4 wireless internet connections here at home I can say that the Smart LTE has got some potential, albeit the rumors going around that the price plan for the upcoming Smart LTE is primed for premium plans or in layman’s term high priced plans.

Im no smart broadband user so I have no idea how fast is “fast” for this connection. Plus for the fact that my location here in Manila does not receive a LTE signal means that it might take time until I can consider the Smart LTE as one of my preferred connections, but that’s just me.

Though I don’t have the Smart LTE connection, the USB Dongle Huawei E392 which I am using right now for the Smart LTE receives HSPA+ signal which is fast specially during off peak hours that my speed skyrockets at 4mbps tops. I bet it could go higher if I am in a place with less walls or in a higher floor.

It would depend on what kind of internet user you are. But if you are an internet user who is always on the go or maybe a home user that needs a fast internet connection without minding the budget, then the Smart LTE might just do the job. Otherwise, you can just stick to your trusty internet connection until the Smart LTE has spread out.

Check here if you want to know if your location is being catered with Smart LTE Signal with the Smart LTE Sites List.

Huawei BM622i and BM622m Comparison

If you take a look the physical appearance of screenshot above it looks like no differences, from left is Huawei model BM622m while on the right side is model BM622i. From the rear both have same ports such as the RJ45 LAN, POTS for VoIP Telephone, SMA connector for external antenna, likewise the DC power supply and also the pin hole for the reset button are identical.

Looking at the front view there has no big change, from down indicator is POTS LEDs for VoIP followed by LAN, Power and the WiMAX five lit signal strength status.

The internal side of Huawei model BM622m has really big difference with regards to board and the layout, flash memory is also different to the BM622i CPE. As you can see from above, below is the BM622i internal boards and layout.

It only proves that Huawei BM622m and BM622i are far not identical to each other with regards to their hardware such as CPU, Flash Memory including the WAN chips, maybe because old version of  Huawei BM622 has very poor in terms of security issue.
