Wordpress Ping List for Faster Indexing of Blog Post

WordPress ping list are very useful to extend your blog reach to major search engines. We all know that blog has a big advantage over static/dynamic sites in the form of Ping. If you are not aware of pinging feature of WordPress, then here are my 2 cents for you.

When ever you publish, edit or modify a post, WordPress sends ping to all the Ping services which is listed under your ping update service. So this way, ping services get notified about new post and search engine will quickly index them.

Now by default WordPress notifies all major ping services but we can always extend our limit by pinging more services by adding them manually.

Over the time, I have compiled a list of ping services for WordPress, which will help you to ping more services. Here is list of my working WordPress ping list:

Fix Broken Links And Redirections

Broken link checker WordPress plugin (BLC) is one of the essential site SEO audit plugin. For any huge WordPress blog, this plugin is a life saver to remove broken links and to fix redirections. This plugin is very handy when you are cleaning up your WordPress site after some time. This plugin finds all broken and redirected links and give you options to fix them in many ways. Before we talk more about Broken link checker plugin, lets check out some information on broken links.

What are broken links?

Broken links are those link which do not exist. It’s a dead link with 404 status code. For example, you might have linked to some website or pages in the past and now that link doesn’t exist or has been removed, such links are broken links or dead end for bots. When a visitor follow that link, he will get 404 error page & search engine bots will get 404 status code, which means this page does not exist. From SEO point of view broken links ( dead links) are dead end and it adds negative impact on your blog.

For any Website there are many broken link checker Websites Or you can use Xenu to check all broken links on your blog. But when it comes to WordPress, there are plugins like Broken link checker which makes our life easier. Too many 404 links are also informally termed at Link rot and you can read more about it on Wiki page.

WordPress plugin to fix broken links:

BLC is a free broken link checker tool for WordPress. It helps you to find all broken links on your blog as well as all the redirections. Specially, if your posts get too many comments, over the time you might end up having hundreds or thousands of broken links.

This WP plugin checks all the URL’s on your WordPress blog and give a complete report of broken and redirected link. Plugin author has updated this plugin to take care of load on your site and now it comes with many settings.

How to use Broken link checker WordPress plugin?
It might take some time before you start seeing detected broken and redirected links. You can always check the status from your dashboard homepage. Here is how the broken link checker plugin shows broken links:

Along with broken link, it shows the status code, which will help you to determine if you have to unlink, update or not to take any action. Again, my recommendation would be work on updating the link instead of simply unlinking it. In case, if you have a huge blog with thousands of broken links, it’s better to get rid of such 404 links instead of delaying it for later.

You can click on Settings at top right and configure many settings. Specially, go to “Look for links in” and check comments. If your server is underpowered or if it’s overpowered, you can set the Server load limit under advance settings tab. There is an option under general, which let you stop search engine bots to follow broken links.

Usually, this plugin is plug and play to find broken links, but additionally I would suggest to check and confirm if “Stop search engines from following broken links” and Comments under look for links in are checked. This will make sure that by the end of the day, you will be getting rid of broken links.

Broken links found. What next?

So, after running this plugin for 2-3 hours, it detected almost 500+ broken links. For comments, you can simply select all such comments and from the drop down, you can select Unlink. Or you can hover over any link and quickly edit, unlink or mark it as not broken. Specially for blog posts, I would suggest you to update the broken link with updated link else your quality post might not be of any good without any link.

Here is the most interesting feature of this plugin and that is finding redirection and fixing it. Over the time, many people change their domain and do a redirection or you might have changed your permalink and your old posts are interlinked using old permalink, which is somehow not to good for SEO. Broken link checker plugin checks all the redirection and with one click you can fix the redirected links and update them to new one. In case, if you are using affiliate links, it will be also shown as redirected link, so make sure you don’t fix such affiliate links. Here is a screenshot of how you can fix redirected links.:

If you ever changed your domain, permalink or moved from BlogSpot to WordPress or from any other platform, this redirects feature under broken link checker plugin is going to be very useful.

Some time back, I changed CallingAllGeeks permalink structure which resulted in showing as duplicate meta description for all the posts under HTML suggestion of Google Webmaster tool. After searching in Webmaster forum, I realize it’s a bug but still I don’t see any point of keeping links with old permalink structure. As too many redirection and such links might not be considered as SEO friendly. Here is a screenshot for the same:

Canon PowerShot S100 Snap Review

Thanks for joining me from my article entitled COMPARISON: Nikon 1 V1, Fuji x10, & Canon s100 (plus Fuji x100 and Canon G12 & s95)! In this article I’ll review the Canon PowerShot s100 on its own merits using the methodology described in the intro article. I reviewed the s95 in the past and came pretty close to buying it when I decided to go with the G12 instead. On paper all of the improvements to the s100 made it seem so good that I thought I might be giving up my G12 to get one, but after extensive use I didn’t find it to live up to my expectations based on its specs.

Please note that excluding the two s100 product shots (courtesy of Canon USA), all of the photos in this article are unedited in-camera JPEG’s).

What’s New

  • Longer lens range (equivalent to 24-120mm) at a range of f/2.0 to f/5.9
  • 12.1 megapixel 1/1.7" Canon sensor (CMOS)
  • ISO 80-6400
  • DIGIC V image processor
  • 2.3 fps continuous shooting (and up to 8 frames in High-Speed burst scene mode – JPEG Full Auto only)
  • Full HD 1080p video recording with support for both  H.264 compression and the MOV file format
  • Optical zoom in movie mode
  • Super slow motion movie recording (640 x 480 @ 120fps, 320 x 240 @ 240 fps)
  • Direct movie record button
  • Built-in GPS unit with image tagging and logger functions

Living with the s100

Canon has packed the s100 full of great features like built-in GPS tracking, a huge LCD on the rear for its size, amazingly good high ISO performance up to 6400, and an innovative ring selector on the front that is programmable so you can have your favorite feature readily accessible without going into menus. Its slender size and these are the things that made me excited about this camera.

Now that I’ve said what I like, it’s time to be blunt. I’ve been very unimpressed with the build quality and reliability of both the s95 and s100 I’ve tested. The s95 quickly developed a dead row of pixels on the sensor and this s100 suffers from obscenely short battery life (sometimes as little as 30 minutes of normal use (i.e., not video or continuous on), despite coming off a full charge. I also find that despite how great it seems in the tech specs when you compare it to the G12, the reality is that when you are out shooting kids in the real world it just can’t keep up as well as the G12 can (in Av/Tv/P modes).

Despite its faster Digic V processor and its f/2 lens, The s100 seems to have a longer delay from the time you push the shutter release until it actually takes the shot, which for kids means you’ve missed the shot. While you can use the High-Speed Burst HQ scene mode to get a fast burst of 8 shots, or the “Kids & Pets” mode, RAW is not supported and frequently the subject is out of focus.

f/5.9 for 1/125 sec at ISO 6400 (26mm) Aperture Priority / Tungsten White Balance
Unedited from In-Camera JPEG

I also found myself getting a large number of out of focus shots in real world indoor shooting. In the shot above I was in my studio under reasonably decent Solux lights with my model on a bright white studio paper background. I also put a reflector under face, so she’s the best indoor lighting situation you are going to find. While I could have shot this at f/2, the reality is that when I’m shooting a person and want to create a flattering shot I’ll typically back off and zoom in to make the body features appear a bit slimmer. This model has a wider face, so shooting at f/2 or f/2.2 would get me down to ISO 500 (this creating a sharper image) at the expense of distortion and a more full body framing (unless I got obnoxiously close when shooting) as shown here:

Shooting wide open isn’t always desirable
when indoors due to distortion and working distance

I really want to love this camera because its form factor is brilliant. I love the size and weight – especially when it is closed up. It seems to be significantly better than the s95 based on my unscientific analysis of everyday real world shots I was able to get from the s95 vs the s100. The s100 images appear to have more dynamic range and the high ISO performance, even in RAW, is excellent (much better than the G12 in fact). That said, it’s not even close to the quality found in the x10, but its about half the price and size so that’s forgivable.

f/2 for 1/30 sec (handheld) at ISO 250 (5.2mm) Macro Mode
Full Auto HDR Creative Filters Mode
Lens was about 1 inch from the flower
Unedited from In-Camera JPEG

I was very happy with the macro mode on this camera as the minimum focus distance when you are in macro mode is quite good. I was able to get within an inch at min zoom and about 6 inches at max zoom (in macro mode) and acquire clear focus to get the shot. This makes it a great tool for the amateur macro photographer and teens.
Built-In Intelligence is Very Good
The Auto mode as well as the Special Scene (SCN) and Creative Filters modes are technology marvels. While some modes are downright cheesy (Super Vivid) or useless (Color Swap), many are brilliant for the amateur photographer that doesn’t own a DSLR or Photoshop. As I mentioned in my G12 review, modes like Miniature Effect, Fisheye and HDR will are very fun to play with and the results are respectable. There’s a brilliant Smart Shutter mode that will wait for the subject to smile and then automatically take 3 photos (including raising the flash automatically if required). It works well under the right conditions, and nearly always gets a clear shot (even if the shot looks like crap due to direct flash or poor lighting conditions that are beyond the camera’s control).

I was very happy with the built-in image stabilization – it really works quite well on static subjects. Naturally no image stabilization will help you when your subject moves – that’s still a shutter speed issue – so indoors you still need to find the light or God forbid use the flash to avoid the typical point and shoot motion blur.

The built-in stitching mode for panoramas hasn’t changed, and in my mind is the most useless and unfriendly design on the market. I rarely get a usable result, but if you’ve used it and mastered it then this may not be an issue for me. I do wish Canon would see what Fujifilm has done for their panorama modes on the x100 and x10 – it’s the most brilliant and idiot proof design that just works flawlessly 90% of the time (on static subjects).

Night Shooting & HDR Mode

Using a Gitzo GT1541 tripod (with no head for extra stability), and the 2 second timer mode (to reduce interference from hand induced camera shake), I experimented with taking a shot using the full auto mode, the HDR Creative Filter mode (which takes 4 shots and merges), and the Handheld Night Scene mode. It was after midnight and it was raining lightly, but no wind. There was ambient light from the porches of two houses, but cloud cover made it a pretty dark night. Here’s what I ended up getting in these three modes (visit the gallery here for full-size originals):

HDR Creative Filter Mode on a Tripod with 2 second Timer
Great dynamic range, but disappointingly blurry
(note: default IS mode was used – not tripod IS mode)

Handheld NightScene Mode
f/2 for 1/15 sec at ISO 3200 (auto best of 4)
Impressive, but a touch dark and blurry

Full Auto Mode – Night Scene Detected  (Tripod with 2 second timer)
Very sharp and clear, but less dynamic range than HDR
f/2 for 1 second @ ISO 400
(note: default IS mode was used – not tripod IS mode)
Personally I like the last one best which proves that the old tried and true method of using a tripod for a long exposure isn’t a bad way to go even in these days with technical gadgetry. It’s cool that all three modes are offered though, and at the end of the day there may be times where the auto modes could make the difference between getting the shot and not. After all, how many people will really have tripods (or natural support in the exact right space) when your out with your point and shoot?
Color Accent Mode
Mouse over to see before, mouse out to see after
With solid colors in isolation, the Sin City look is instantly possible in-camera

Even though this feature has been around for a while, I haven’t discussed it on my blog before. The way this works is you turn the mode dial to Creative Filters mode, and isolate a color via the LCD and the control dial. The color you choose remains in color and everything else goes to black and white. As shown above you get the typical “Sin City” look, but it works best on solid colors. When trying to apply it to flowers it doesn’t work as well (although the LCD view will fool you into thinking its perfect):

Mouse over to see before, mouse out to see after
It’s a bit of a fail when there’s more than one tone though

Image Quality

For a point and shoot camera, the image quality of this camera is actually quite good. When using in-camera JPEG’s, images up to ISO 6400 are usable even if they are a tad soft. Using noise reduction software on the RAW’s can leave you with an outstanding result for a sensor this small. Part of the improvement comes from a new sensor and in-camera processing that does a much better job of reducing the noise at the RAW level before creating the in-camera JPEG. The net result is that more detail is preserved over the s95 when those JPEG’s are created.

Click to view the original to see that detail in the shadows and bright areas is respectable
f/2 for 1/30 sec (handheld) at ISO 500 (5.2mm) Full Auto Mode

The dynamic range appears to have been improved in this over the s95 or even the G12, but the images seem to be lacking something that is hard to quantify in scientific terms. They just frequently fail to please me – especially when viewing them in Lightroom. DPP does a great job of making the images look their best (both RAW and JPEG) and printing direct from DPP to a professional Canon printer (like the Canon ipf6300) from a RAW image can often create astonishingly good results with no photo editing at all (go to any Canon trade show event to see this in action to see what I mean).
Overall this camera has the typically good in-camera color that Canon is known for, but when pushed the reality of its small sensor become apparent (2nd shot below).

Under the right conditions, the color rendition was excellent

When pushed, the limited dynamic range became apparent

Features

The s100 offers the standard modes of Program (P), Shutter Speed Priority (Tv), Aperture Priority (Av) , Manual, Custom (user-defined variant of the previously mentioned), and full auto (JPEG) only. There’s also a movie mode which can now be accessed directly via the new record button shown above.

Two of the most useful point and shoot modes (JPEG only) are Creative Filters and Special Scene (SCN) modes because that’s where all of the engineering intelligence in this camera lives. I’ve discussed some of the features already, but these modes are great for times when you don’t want to think – you just want to take pictures. You give the camera a little more input about what you want to do (i.e., beach, underwater, sunset, kids & pets, etc…) and it uses all its power to give you the best result for that scenario. Using these modes I got significantly more in-focus and usable shots than I did when I tried to use Aperture Priority (Av) or even Program (P) mode. You don’t get an option to save RAW images when you do this, so what you get is pretty much what you get, but the camera does everything in its power to give you a sharp shot with a balanced histogram. As a result these images are typically salvageable for post-processing and in-focus

The controls of this camera are excellent, and the addition of the record button and better focusing options have made this iteration more friendly in daily real world use over its predecessor. I found myself programming the ring dial in the front to exposure compensation really helps a lot, and the auto ISO seems to do a good job of making the right tradeoffs of ISO versus the appropriate shutter speed.

The built-in GPS support was useless indoors as it would never acquire a satellite signal, but if you went outdoors and had a clear signal then it would pick up after a few minutes. This is typical GPS behavior for devices that can’t do triangulation so don’t expect the GPS to record all the places you’ve been on your trip if you’ll be shooting a lot indoors. You can leave GPS logging on to help with that scenario, but bring about 30 batteries because you’ll need it.
Beware – you need LOTS of batteries
Speaking of batteries, the biggest gripe I have about this camera is its battery. While it is nice and compact, it seems that all of the technical hoo ha of this camera drains the battery very quickly. It’s pointless to disable all of those features, so you’ll need multiple spare batteries with this camera. The best performance I got on a battery was about 3 hours of usage (at a car show), and the camera was only turned on when needed. I didn’t have GPS turned on (especially logging which would get you down to about 30 minutes), so the rest was in what I’d call normal out of the box settings.

Factor this into your cost as the batteries were $43.95 EACH at the time this article was written, so you may not be saving much over more expensive cameras when you add the batteries required to get an equivalent shooting time.

For a full feature list, visit Canon USA.

s95 & G12 Owners – Upgrade Advice

If you own a s95 and love it, I think this camera is worth the upgrade based on image quality and performance alone. The 1080p video is a big plus as well. The GPS feature is a battery sucking vampire on a camera that already drains the battery faster than a frat house keg on graduation night, so consider that issue (and cost) when upgrading.

If you own a G12, this camera does offer some nice new features and performance (especially in the dynamic range and higher ISO’s), but fundamentally the G12 is the better camera for those who won’t be shooting in the full auto – jpeg only modes. It also lacks the durability, reliability and pivoting LCD of the G12 so I’d advise against replacing a G12 with a s100.

Sample Photos

To see a gallery of test images (including original in-camera JPEG download). Here’s a few medium size samples that show off what this camera can do:

Conclusion

All of the technical wizardy of this camera is impressive and is sure to please the average consumer who doesn’t have a DSLR. If you don’t care about RAW images and just want to capture memento photos, the special scene and creative filter modes will help you get the shot that is suitable for posting on your favorite social networking sites.

If you are a DSLR owner looking for a pocketable alternative to the beast, I suspect you’ll be disappointed with this camera. While the images aren’t bad, the dynamic range just isn’t there and is sure to dissapoint. While the price might suggest that its is good enough, when you’ve seen other alternatives like the more expensive Fujifilm X10, you realize that small doesn’t have to mean poor quality.

This isn’t a bad camera and the form factor is excellent, but it’s just not one that I think my average reader is really going to be happy with. Do you want your trip to Disney, or that birthday celebration to have shots that are blurry and bleached out looking? I don’t, so I’d rather see Canon do something like Fujifilm’s EXR mode to useless megapixels, but create a significantly better image (in terms of quality and dynamic range). Few people will be printing massive posters using images from their point and shoot, and even a 4 megapixel image is sufficient for a nice letter size print these days (or greater, depending on viewing distance).

I also hated the fact that the battery just doesn’t last very long so you’ll need a bunch of them. I’d seriously have about 4 of them pre-charged if I were going out to Disney all day, so that adds nearly $200 to the cost of this camera. For that price you can get the superior Fujifilm X10 which offers significantly better image quality and performance.

I’d rather have a 3 megapixel version of this camera that had much better dynamic range and faster performance. Despite its great stats on paper, a car analogy is in order – it’s much like comparing a Ford Mustang GT to a Porsche Cayman S. While the Mustang might fare well on paper, and looks are subjective, when you actually use both you realize there is no comparison.

My wife liked the s95 when she compared it to the G12, but we ultimately went with the G12, Now that she’s a seasoned G12 owner, she lasted 10 minutes with this camera before she handed it back to me in disgust and resumed using the G12. She said she still loved the compact size, but we made the right decision getting the G12.

Free Web Directories for Building Backlinks

Shortly after launching this blog I went on a marathon backlinks building session and successfully submitted http://www.pakitong.com to this 49 list of free web directories submission!

Since then I’ve regularly updated this list to add more quality sites and remove anything that’s no longer free or has lapsed in quality. (The last update was on June 24, 2014).

Sure, directory submissions are very VERY boring, but they’re totally worth doing!

And submitting clambr.com to the free directories in this list was actually the first ever active link building exercise I did.

I chose to do this first because it can take months to get your submissions approved.

So after scraping the internet for free web directory lists I squeezed 76 potential candidates into an excel spreadsheet.

Most of the lists I found from Google searches were either duplicates or very out of date. The most up-to-date web directory list was one I found later just as I was finishing up submitting to the below directories – Top 100 free directory list.

Out of the 76 supposedly “FREE” directory submission sites I tried to submit to from my excel, 14/76 malfunctioned and 13/76 were not free at all! This left me with just 49 that had literally free options. Here they are:

How to Peel a Pineapple

Remember Cheezels??? That's how you eat Cheezels, stick your finger through the hole. But this is a pineapple. that's a bit to big. Hahaha!!

When I made Pineapple Tarts for sale back when I was 17, I never peel my own pineapples. I pay extra 50 sen (for each fruit) to have it done. It's not easy to peel 10 pineapples each time I make the jam. And I make that a few times. I'd rather pay. But now, I only need one... So, I tried peeling this myself. My first attempt. Hahahah!!
I'm going to do another upside down cake, since I was dissapointed last time.

So before I bake the cakes again, here goes my peeling adventure..

Wonder why the numbers are not quite right with this 2nd peeling pic? Cos I missed those in the middle out during my initital editing, so I just quickly remedied it... haiya, nevermind la. Not perfect nevermind one.

Now, I can peel my own pineapple already. Can you? I'm sure you can.

Oh ya, one more thing about pineapples. I always bake with Morris variety. Huh? What what???
There are a few varieties of pineapple in Malaysia, and the common ones in the market are Morris, Josapine(not Josephine ok, no such pineapple), and Sarawak variety, with Morris being almost everywhere. It's at the rojak stalls, the cut fruit stalls, the juice stations.. Why? It's the cheapest!!!

Well, it's not because of the price that I use this, but because of the taste. I'm sure you won't want to bake with red apples, but green ones. Why? Things that are too sweet don't really taste that good when baked, right? I like Morris, due to the tartness, the amount of fibre it has (especially when it comes to pineapple tarts, the more fibre, the more jam I'll get from 1 fruit). Josapine is more of a eating pineapple than a baking one, that's my personal opinion., but then again, I don't eat fresh pineapples. Maybe due to bad experiences of them making my tongue sore when I was a kid, and they were Morris :)

Cause for White Tongue and Lump in the Throat

On this article, Anti Candida Diet blog presents you with article Cause for White Tongue and Lump in the Throat. No matter what problems you have: candida and diseases, yeast infection symptoms, or anti yeast diet, make sure you visit us often. Check more details below.

My friend wants to know if white tongue and lump in the throat is a candida symptom. She has a white coating on my tongue, because she does and it is giving her bad breath. Also, she thinks she has a lump in her throat. She is wondering if that is related to candida or acid reflux or both.

Most of us, the candida sufferers, have that white tongue she got, but it isnt candidiasis, it caused by other yeasts. I believe this Yeast syndrome is one of the worst diseases out there, because you don’t know what you have.

The white coating on your tongue itself is a sign of cleansing and/or ketosis. I read somewhere that it happens and is normal when you stop eating carbohydrates/sugar and only eat the protein and fat. Try scraping your tongue and drinking more water. The coating will clear up as your body becomes cleaner. This really makes sense, because it happens to me when I cut off carbs.

Bad breath means toxic colon. I, too, have had the lumpy sore throat for years. It went away after I did a year and a half program from candida wellness center, but still had vaginal yeast, so I dont really recommend it. I find that when I follow a low carb diet I get a lump in my throat. It happens all the time.

Ketosis, which makes you having the white tongue, is not a healthy thing to be in, as it means you are burning too much fat too quickly and it can tax your kidneys. You may want to increase your carbs a bit by eating more veggies.

I wish this article "Cause for White Tongue and Lump in the Throat" has been informative and meet what you need. If you want to know more details about this issue, or everything related to anti candida diet, I highly recommend that you grab my recommended special report and also get their support on Fight the Yeast website. Why Decaffeinated Coffee Not Allowed for the Anti Yeast Diet

On this article, Candida Home Remedies blog presents you with article Why Decaffeinated Coffee Not Allowed for the Anti Yeast Diet. No matter what problems you have: candida and diseases, yeast infection symptoms, or anti yeast diet, make sure you visit us often. Check more details below.

My friend wants to know why even decaffeinated coffee is not allowed for the anti yeast diet. She has been having one cup in the morning and it is from the health store. She reads on one yeast site that it was ok to drink one cup of decaf per day if you really need it. Now, she is really confused as she didn’t know that decaf is not ok. She is having a very hard time giving up that first morning cup. She also wonders if coffee enema will be a bad thing to do, too.

I am not sure exactly why, but I know that decaf is considered worse than regular coffee, yeast or no yeast. But for me, it is best to give up gradually. Now, I no longer need the first cup in the morning, but I have one in the late afternoon when I am working. I get organic coffee (so there are no chemicals in it) and I sweeten it with Stevia. You could also try dandelion coffee as a substitute.

It contains mold and it is very acidic that it kills the good bacteria in your system. I think that decaf coffee is a no-no because it is very acidic, creating an environment in which yeast thrive.

On the other hand, coffee enemas are ok, as long as you use organic coffee and brew it correctly, which I found out I was doing wrong. When you use it as an enema, the caffeine does not enter your system, but goes directly to stimulating the liver to dump toxins. It also is a great stimulant for the intestines to clean out the junk that is built up.

I have been in the field of candidiasis for a long time and have written many articles about candida. I hope this Why Decaffeinated Coffee Not Allowed for the Anti Yeast Diet article fulfill your expectation, otherwise go ahead grab my recommended report on how to cure candida fast naturally at Fight the Yeast where you can get answers to the rest of your questions.

Candida Die Off White Tongue To Be Yeast Related – Is It Right?

On this article, Candida Home Remedies blog presents you with article Candida Die Off White Tongue To Be Yeast Related – Is It Right?. No matter what problems you have: candida and diseases, yeast infection symptoms, or anti yeast diet, make sure you visit us often. Check more details below.

My friend has an HMO and have to use certain doctors for her sickness. Her doctor is of no help, anyway. The past month she has been sick, first with ulcers in her throat, and now with symptoms on her lips and tongue. Her lips are red, tingly feeling, and very sore. Her tongue seems swollen and has almost like little tiny sores in spots (it is a little whitish, but not much). Her doctor says there has to be whitish stuff on her lips and tongue for it to be yeast related.

But she has read – even seen pictures on the web – where it is red not white. She finally got him to call in that one time pill for yeast infections and bought Acidolphilis from the health food store. It has only been one day, so she hasnt had any relieve as of yet. She was just wondering if anyone thought she was on the right track. She has been reading all the symptoms of Candida and just felt like why didnt she or her doctor picks up on this sooner, as there is so many similarities to her history.

For your information, you don’t have to have white stuff on the lips for the problem to be yeast related. Ulcers in the mouth/ throat are a symptom of Candida. I am not saying yours is or isn’t. But they are, nevertheless, symptoms of the horrible ‘invasion’. So is a swollen tongue, which makes you feel like you’ve just licked a bed of nettles with no doctor leaves nearby.

Somebody said earlier that often times, we are on our own, as far as our doctor’s advice/ encouragement/ knowledge about Candida is concerned. Read as much as you can about the illegal immigrants, and then read some more.

I wish this article "Candida Die Off White Tongue To Be Yeast Related – Is It Right?" has been informative and meet what you need. If you want to know more details about this issue, or everything related to anti candida diet, I highly suggest that you grab my recommended special report and also get their support on Fight the Yeast website. Creating a Windows Server 2012 Failover Cluster

Creating a cluster on Windows Server 2012 is easy experience!

After installing the Failover Clustering feature, and validating a configuration, the next step is to create a new cluster. There are some minor changes in the create cluster experience in Windows Server 2012, but it is very similar to creating a cluster in Windows Server 2008 R2.

For details on installing the Failover Clustering feature, see this blog posting: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/clustering/archive/2012/04/06/10291601.aspx

To learn more about validation, see this TechNet article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731844(v=ws.10).aspx

You can create a cluster using the Failover Cluster Manager UI, or using PowerShell. Both of these can be installed on Windows Server 2012 or Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) for Windows Server 2012.

Creating a Failover Cluster using Failover Cluster Manager

1. Open Failover Cluster Manager - it can be opened from Server Manager using the Tools menu:

2. In the Failover Cluster Manager, choose the “Create Cluster…” action, which can be found in 3 places:

3. The Create Cluster Wizard initializes. Review the information on the Before You Begin screen. Click Next

4. Enter the names of all the servers that will be part of the cluster. Note: More than one node can be specified at a time, using comma separation.

Example: MyServer1, MyServer2, MyServer3

5. If the nodes specified have not been validated, the following page in the wizard will be shown. It’s highly recommended to validate the configuration before you create the cluster. This will help ensure that the servers are connected and configured correctly and that it can be supported by Microsoft:

Aspect Ratios, HD and Windows Movie Maker

I'm having a lot of fun with HD video. I'm hoping that others are seeing that HD video will be the standard for home video, but with that comes challenges. The hardest part is dealing with the tools we have for editing video; it's not a seamless environment yet. I can't take stuff I've captured in Sony Vegas and easily use it in Windows Movie Maker. Similarly, if I want to capture something in WMM, it doesn't come in seamlessly into Sony Vegas.

For example, recently our family took a camping trip to Mammoth Lakes. I had set up our camera and filmed 40+ minutes of us setting up the tent. Obviously, I didn't want to have people watch a full 40 minutes, I wanted to speed it up but with variable speeds, slower at the beginning, faster in the middle, slower at the end.

Windows Movie Maker only has the ability to increase the speed by powers of 2 (double, quadruple, etc.) by applying the Speed Up, Double effect up to 6 times. Even with my custom effects for speed (that allow other speed rates), I couldn't get the effect I wanted. So I switched to Sony Vegas Pro 8. For some reason it didn't like the dvr.ms format that I captured in WMM. So I had to recapture it in Vegas. That was okay, but then I found that Sony Vegas doesn't let you speed up more than 4 times. Since I wanted to get our 40 minutes down to about 1 minute, it meant I would need multiple passes.

My plan was to do the first pass in Sony Vegas with variable speeds, then do an overall speed up using Movie Maker. Things were going fine... I did the first pass and saved the clip in a high-bitrate WMV format. Then I brought it into WMM and applied the speed effect to get it down to a minute. I published the movie.

What I discovered was that WMM took only the top, left corner of the video. So rather than thinking I had 1920x1080 video, it saw it as 720x480 and only took those pixels in the upper right. I'm thinking it must be related to the format that Sony exports in that it must not be *true* WMV format, or is otherwise causing WMM to get confused.

In the end, I had to do all the work in Sony Vegas with about 3 (or was it 4) passes there. The result is great, but it took a lot more time than I thought it should. I hope we get to the point where things will be seamless and all formats will be recognized. Will we get there? Who knows?

Iranian anti-censorship software ‘Simurgh’ circulated with malicious backdoor

Simurgh is an Iranian stand-alone proxy software for Microsoft Windows. It has been used mainly by Iranian users to bypass censorship since 2009. The downloadable file is less than 1 MB and can be downloaded within a reasonable amount of time even with a slow internet connection, which makes it convenient for many users in Iran. Simurgh runs without prior installation or administrator privileges on the computer and therefore, can be copied and used from a USB flash drive on any shared computer (i.e Internet cafes).

Simurgh is available for free download from its official website https://simurghesabz.net. After running the executable file, a user interface (see below) opens. When the user clicks “Start”, Simurgh will attempt to establish a secure connection. The web browser will then open a new window to provide users with a test page, confirming their secure connection originating from a different country.

It has recently come to our attention that this software is being recommended and circulated among Syrian Internet users for bypassing censorship in their country. This information led to the discovery and analysis of a back-doored version of this software.

The malicious copy will install the Simurgh software, but will also install an undesirable backdoor on the victim’s computer. This software is distributed as “Simurgh-setup.zip” and is identifiable via the following md5 and sha256 hashes:

5e2a714fdfc2309af843056e8c5ae7d3 Simurgh-setup.zip
9c1a238d87e3bad41708c2e98f753442a224ed9df994e1a34083b2bf336047e5 Simurgh-setup.zip

When you unzip this file you are presented with Simurgh-setup.exe

379480c807812f3521466f7ff5ffa273 Simurgh-setup.exe
e20438a4cf90b67dab613451cc5b3bc35256413461dafdfc35425429d8d478df Simurgh-setup.exe

The installer from the most recent legitimate version of Simurgh looks like this:

Executing the malicious version starts an installation dialogue which looks like this:

In addition to creating a copy of Simurgh in:

C:\Program Files\Simurgh\Simurgh.exe

The malicious GUI installer drops 4 binaries in C:\windows\system32\drivers:

MSINET.OCX – 73da54b69911bdd08ea8bbbd508f815ef7cfa59c4684d75c1c602252ec88ee31
richtx32.ocx – 318cc48cbcfaba9592956e4298886823cc5f37626c770d6dadbcd224849680c5
shdocvw.dll – fdae6764d190bf265dbc2df352174ccdcc97b1680545e348f1ee1111b0808693
lsass.exe – 9320d247dd94f610f31037df8eda75fe79991f126d2e55d35a9532d09ff79896

The first three files are legitimate Microsoft system files which appear to be dependencies of the fourth, ‘lsass.exe’. This file is VB6 native code and is installed as an implant to allow persistent access to the victim’s computer and to provide data exfiltration capabilities.

As part of the installation the following registry entry is written which ensures the running of the Trojan on logon:

HKLM\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon\shell explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\lsass.exe REG_SZ 0

On startup, ‘lsass.exe’ deletes ‘C:\WINDOWS\Media\Windows XP Start.wav’. This file is the ‘navigation’ sound in Explorer, IE, and other applications based on a common set of controls. Since ‘lsass.exe’ uses several of these controls, this is presumably done to prevent ‘clicking’ sounds during the operation of the implant. However, this will also lead to a lack of navigation sounds in other applications, where they would be expected.

In addition to ensuring persistence, ‘lsass.exe’ enumerates basic details of the system (IP address, hostname, victim username) and provides keylogging functionality. This binary contains three javascript files which are written out as the text files:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\win.txt
C:\WINDOWS\system32\1.txt
C:\WINDOWS\system32\2.txt

These act as basic HTML templates for data mined from the victim’s system (such as keystrokes). Processing of ‘win.txt’ renames it to ‘upl.htm’ which is then sent via HTTP post request to a remote site registered with a Saudi Arabian ISP.

If this Trojan is found to be installed on a computer one must consider all online accounts (E-mail, banking, etc.) to have been compromised and it is advised that all online passwords be changed as soon as possible. While this Trojan is detected by most anti-virus software as malicious, AV software cannot always be guaranteed to clean up an infected system and a full re-install is suggested.

This Trojan has been specifically crafted to target people attempting to evade government censorship. Given the intended purpose of this software, users must be very careful if they have been infected by this Trojan. Additionally, they should be cautious about installing software, especially circumvention software, from untrusted sources. Where possible, software should be downloaded from trusted official websites over HTTPS. If checksums or cryptographic signatures are provided by the software vendor, these should be checked prior to installation.

UPDATED: May 30, 2012

Media coverage
Since our report was published, the Simurgh team has taken several important steps to warn their users about this threat.

The Simurgh team warns their users directly on the website https://simurghesabz.net/ with a prominent message in Arabic, Farsi and English about the malicious versions of the software. They post MD5 checksums of the official binaries and malicious packages, as well as instructions for how to check MD5 checksums against downloaded software. If you use Simurgh you should immediately compare your installer against the checksums posted on the official site.

You can also find these checksums below:

Official binaries
– simurgh120.20100910.exe – 07855ead46bb15718ee73d513bdb9678
– simurgh120beta.20100326.exe – ddecf8ac6c96c148cc7c42183d25baa9

Malicious installer packages
– Simurgh-setup.zip – 5e2a714fdfc2309af843056e8c5ae7d3
– Simurgh-setup.exe – 379480c807812f3521466f7ff5ffa273
– Simurgh-setup.exe – 300b0d061dfb9c9c6d7bdeecc74169f1
– simurgh[homs-sin.ibda3.org].exe – c8c8817af66312cfcfcb1ddf952f9d98

As Sophos has pointed out in a recent blog post on Naked Security http://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/2012/05/29/spying-trojan-targets-iranian-web-surfers-dissidents/, the splash page that loads when Simurgh is initialized to show the users’ IP has been configured to warn users who may be compromised.

If you see a warning you should immediately run an antivirus program to remove the software or for greater assurance, reinstall your operating system.

In addition to the steps Simurgh has taken, we have made outreach to and notified the provider that was hosting the malicious version of Simurgh and they have now taken down the malicious package.

How to view a website that has been deleted?

Sometimes, people delete their blog/website to protect their privacy.

For example, during Singapore Election, when Nicole Seah of NSP (National Solidarity Party) is nominated as a candidate, and she instantly becomes a public figure.

She starts protecting her privacy on Facebook, and deleted her personal blog to avoid public scrutiny. Her blog was originally at http://www.crappology.blogspot.com

http://classic-web.archive.org/web/20070713212452/http://crappology.blogspot.com/

With the help of Internet Archive, which archive ALL public webpages periodically, you can travel back in time to look at a website. Fortunately, her blog was archived in 2007 for us to take a look.
